Remembering Eric, Jeff and Jorge

Today we begin our annual remembrance of Eric, Jeff and Jorge. Although they are gone, we weep not, because they continue to touch people’s lives in ways they would have never imagined while they were with us. Do not be afraid to say that you loved them while they were here, for they are with us still. Even though at times there is internal struggle deep within us, we are always comforted when we remember that they live on in our memory as happy warriors who lived, laughed, loved and fought courageously. In remembering them, we are reminded of the words of Shakespeare’s Hamlet and that they will be remembered forever, as their bright spirit is with us for eternity.
Not a whit. We defy augury. There’s a special providence in the fall of a sparrow. If it be now, ’tis not to come. If it be not to come, it will be now. If it be not now, yet it will come—the readiness is all. Since no man of aught he leaves knows, what is to leave betimes? Let be.
